What you will do Works on the Engineering Lab team that is part of the ASC Brand for ADTi. In this division, we design, test, manufacture and assemble grilles, registers, diffusers, chilled beams, critical environment products, VAV products, fan coils, and blower coils for the commercial and light industrials markets. How you will do it Prepare and install test units in the test facility in order to simulate field installation conditions, or per test standard requirements, duct connection, electrical connection, etc.Set up test facilities and connect data acquisition instruments according to general instructions and per test standard requirements.Analyze test data, and make modifications and adaptations to the test unit based upon analysis of the data.Utilize computer software programs to run the test facility, conduct testing, and collect and analyze test data.Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problemsOperates machine tools, welders, sheet metal working and wood making equipmentGenerates draft test reports for pending review for final test reportsWorks with precision with materials of all types such as: metals, wood and plasticUses precision measuring instrumentsReview & interpret agency standardsFollow established safety procedures and maintain a clean work areaConverting existing Units by pulling parts, replacing parts and reassemblingAttaching instrumentation like thermal couples and pressure tapsMoving units and materials using forklifts, cranes or parts chaser cartsMaintain Engineering Lab inventory of units, materials, supplies, and calibration logsOther duties as requiredWhat we look for 2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 2 years' experience in related fieldStrong working knowledge of electrical circuitry and skills in such areas as reading wiring diagrams, modifying unit wiring and controls with minimal instruction, instrumentation, electromechanical troubleshooting, and modification of prototypesAbility to analyze data and make decisions based on analysisAbility to lift equipment, fans, motors, sheet metal parts etc.Self-driven with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervisionLead and instruct team members to execute unit setupsStrong interpersonal skills and decision making abilityGood working knowledge of techniques and skills in areas of wiring, soldering, brazing, fabrication andor assemblyAbility to interpret and work from sketchesblueprintsverbal instruction with minimal supervisionBasic math skillsEffective and professional communication and organizational skills are requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook or other email programsExperience in welding (MIG, TIG, etc.), is a plusExperience with NI and LabView is preferredExperience with CAD, Solidworks, is a plusExperience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing a plusValid driver's license is requiredAbility to braze using OxyAcetylene torch is a plusAbility to solder using a soldering gun is a plusAbility to troubleshoot, collaborate and brainstorm with other team members
