About Our Client Our client, a leading performance advertising company based in New York City, is seeking an International Tax Senior to join their growing tax team. This individual will support the company's global tax strategy, including compliance, provision, and planning for international operations. The role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of international tax matters, including foreign tax returns, intercompany transactions, and international tax planning, while gaining exposure to the evolving landscape of cross-border tax issues. Job Description Key Responsibilities: International Tax Compliance (1/3) Support the preparation of U.S. tax filings related to foreign operations, including forms 5471, 8858, and other relevant schedules. Coordinate with external service providers and local country tax advisors to gather and review necessary documentation for accurate filings. Assist in the preparation and review of foreign tax returns for international subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations. International Tax Provision and Reporting (1/3) Assist in the preparation of the international portion of the tax provision (ASC 740), including the calculation of deferred taxes and effective tax rate related to foreign operations. Support the reconciliation of foreign tax accounts and analysis of intercompany transactions, including transfer pricing adjustments. Collaborate with the tax team to analyze the impact of international tax reform and ensure compliance with U.S. tax rules for global operations. International Tax Planning (1/3) Assist in tax planning initiatives for international operations, identifying opportunities for tax efficiency, transfer pricing, and compliance with local tax incentives. Analyze and provide advice on cross-border transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings. Support the implementation of international tax strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. Collaboration and Support Work closely with finance, legal, and operations teams to address international tax-related matters impacting the business. Assist with the preparation of documentation for international tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities, as necessary. Support senior tax staff and management with ad hoc projects and global tax research. The Successful Applicant Qualifications: Experience : 2-4 years of experience in international tax or related tax roles, with a focus on compliance, tax provision, and planning. Familiarity with U.S. tax rules related to international operations (e.g., GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and Subpart F) is a plus. Experience with foreign tax returns (e.g., Form 5471, 8858) and compliance for multinational corporations is preferred. Technical Skills : Strong understanding of U.S. international tax laws , as well as global tax principles. Proficiency with tax compliance software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to conduct tax research and apply international tax concepts to real-world scenarios. Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance , Taxation , or a related field. CPA, MST, or JD with a focus on international tax is preferred but not required. Personal Attributes : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex international tax issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
