Department: Office of Student Affairs Campus: Rose Hill (RH) - Bronx Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Title IX Coordinator works closely and collaboratively with student affairs, public safety, human resources, academic affairs, athletics and legal counsel to oversee Fordham University's compliance efforts with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and New York Education Law Article 129B, as well as other laws and rules relating to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender and interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and related policy issues (collectively referred to below as "gender harassment") on all Fordham campuses. The Title IX Coordinator oversees the Westchester Campus, Calder Center and London Center. This position is based in Rose Hill but will require occasional travel to the Lincoln Center Campus. This position requires occasional travel and often requires evening and weekend work. Essential Functions: Ensures Fordham University's compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act of 2012 ( VAWA ), the Clery Act, the Campus SAVE Act, and New York Education Law Article 129B related to gender harassment. Develops high quality prevention training and programming designed to prevent gender harassment and ensure University community members know how and where to report gender harassment, and maintains contact with student and employee groups involved in education on related topics. Prepares, implements, and coordinates collaborative University-wide strategic efforts to prevent gender harassment and all forms of gender discrimination, including monitoring, revising, and updating all relevant policies and procedures for the University. Receives and reviews initial reports and regular updates on all investigations and conduct/discipline processes related to gender harassment. Receives inquiries from students and employees regarding rights and responsibilities concerning harassing behavior or other discriminatory behavior in violation of Title IX and oversees timely processing of reports. Coordinates and/or conducts training for Fordham University's investigators, resolution officers, hearing officers, deputy Title IX Coordinators, and other staff on roles and responsibilities under Title IX and the Clery Act related to gender harassment. In collaboration with the Deputy Title IX Coordinators, oversees the university's efforts related to interim safety accommodations and supportive measures in gender harassment matters. Ensures investigation and conduct proceedings related to gender harassment comply with Fordham University's policies as well as state and federal law and that all parties are treated equitably. Maintains comprehensive and organized files including a case management system that allows for identification of patterns or trends and the submission of legally required reports. Coordinates the University's compliance efforts for all required government reports, audits and information requests. Ensures compliance and propriety in all corrective measures to stop, remediate, and prevent gender harassment and assures consistency of gender harassment policies across Fordham University. Monitors compliance with Fordham University's athletic-related Title IX compliance obligations and oversees any necessary remedial measures. Leads the University's Title IX/Sexual Misconduct Education and Prevention Committee, Title IX/Sexual Misconduct Case Management Committee, and Gender Equity Athletics Committee. Coordinates the development, administration, and processing of Fordham University's climate assessment, publication of results, and implementation of recommended actions. Oversees the University's web content related to Title IX, sexual misconduct and gender harassment. Notifies and advises the Vice President for Student Affairs and other senior administrators on risks related to Title IX, including issues of non-compliance, and assists with policy research and institution-wide recommendations related to gender harassment. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree. Minimum of 5 years experience investigating and resolving Title IX and gender harassment complaints and conducting training on Title IX and gender harassment issues. Preferred Qualifications: A terminal degree Experience working with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Experience in higher education or a similar nonprofit organization. Minimum Salary: $120,000 Maximum Salary: $143,000
