The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel is looking for an Utility Steward. This role is responsible to work mainly in the kitchen area & outlet as a support person. He or She is responsible to keep things clean, sanitized and organized that Chefs, food prep assistants, outlets personal can do their job efficiently for our guests. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Attend daily briefing to ascertain special events or activities for the day and discuss any challenges or issues that may have occurred. • Staff will handle all food and food products using correct hygiene and sanitation procedures in accordance to local health regulations. All necessary safety precautions to be taken during function of job: use of chemicals (protective equipment), lifting (weight belts) and mopping (proper signage). All staff will be fully knowledgeable of all chemicals and equipment used in the department. • Positions would be weekly assigned in accordance of job classification. Shift time would be variable according business needs. • Areas of work to be fully sanitized and out of debris at all times. Equipment to be properly stacked and stored. China & Silver to be free of stains & damage • Follow local health and department guidelines: NYC health codes and rules by department of health • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. • Participate in quality control activities. • Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members. • Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties. • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. • Maintain clean and safe work area. • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. • Ensure that standards, inclusive of grooming and attire of staff, are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. • Models the company's culture, vision, mission and core values at all times. • All other duties as required. Qualifications • Minimum 3-year experience in similar position in an ultra-luxury/Michelin environment. • Fluency in English, with fluency in other languages preferred • Education: High school diploma. Licenses & Certifications • Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar capacity for a luxury or ultra-luxury property.
