In the realm of Infrastructure Foundation, we are at the forefront of pioneering next-generation infrastructure-as-a-service solutions at X. We play a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and maintaining the foundational elements that support the rapidly growing platform services, product services, and machine learning initiatives at X. We boast a broad spectrum of expertise in cutting-edge technologies. What you'll do: Joining our team means contributing to the backbone that powers X, solving some of the most challenging infrastructure problems in the industry. This team focuses on agility, problem-solving and a deep commitment to support the engineering community. You will be involved in several of these key areas: Overseeing the management of on-premise data centers and their console interfaces. Building platform services in AWS and GCP to empower critical product services. Streamlining server provisioning and service management across diverse platforms. Advancing fleet management automation and maintaining server health standards. Optimizing the Linux kernel and OS for performance, reliability, compliance standards. Conducting thorough design and testing of server hardware platforms, and ensuring the quality of new server hardware and firmware. Diagnosing and troubleshooting platform issues, determining root causes in both laboratory and real-world scenarios. Managing and forecasting capacity and infrastructure resource requirements. Contributing significantly as a systems engineer for Storage, Compute, Deep Learning, and Database platforms. Who you are: We're looking for exceptional and dedicated engineers who are passionate about our mission and have a strong desire to learn and make a meaningful impact. You will have exposure to solving large scale technical challenges, and you should have Strong proficiency in programming languages including Python, Shell, Java, and Golang. In-depth experience in Linux/Unix environments, with knowledge of various Linux distributions, as an administrator or developer. Understanding of Linux boot processes and system engineering principles. Demonstrable expertise with distributed systems within large data center settings. Proficient in cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, and skilled in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) or virtualization technologies. Profound grasp of computer science fundamentals and networking protocols. Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with superior debugging and analytical reasoning skills. Ability to work independently and initiate tasks effectively, alongside excellent communication and teamwork skills. Skilled at diagnosing and resolving performance and scalability challenges in extensive environments. Expertise in agile development practices, unit testing, and thorough code reviews. Adept at delivering high-quality, incremental results while innovating future-forward platforms. Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). 3 years of experience in large-scale software development, ideally at system level.
