Position Type: Classified Staff/CLEANER Date Posted: 7/1/2024 Location: Multiple Locations Date Available: ASAP Closing Date: 07/01/2025 CLEANER Nassau BOCES Long Island, New York GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs routine cleaning duties, during school recesses, may perform unskilled maintenance tasks. DESCRIPTION: The Facilities Department of the Nassau BOCES is currently seeking a Cleaner for a 12-month position at various locations in Nassau County, New York. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Sweeps, mops, washes wall, dusts, empties waste baskets, and disposes of garbage, manages towels and other cleaning supplies, waxes floors, washes windows and assists in cartage of supplies and equipment. Sets up and removes furniture for special events. Secures windows and doors after cleaning assigned areas. Removes snow or rakes leaves in immediate vicinity of buildings. Painting areas not requiring specific painting skills and/or knowledge. REQUIREMENTS: Completion of eighth grade education. SALARY: As per contract.
