This individual provides leadership to all pharmacy services throughout ChristianaCare including responsibility for clinical excellence, patient and caregiver safety and experience, engagement, and financial performance. Principal duties and responsibilities: Establish the strategic plan for coordination and integration of pharmacy services throughout ChristianaCare. Establishes and maintains effective standards, policies and procedures that are in full compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies and health system requirements. Establishes and maintains, through the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committees, an effective formulary program providing quality patient care that is cost-effective for both acute and ambulatory services. Identifies and implements appropriate changes in response to the external healthcare environment (ex. payer strategies) Establishes standards of quality throughout ChristianaCare for pharmaceutical services. Ensures compliance with 340B Federal Drug Discount Program. Oversight of the pharmacy supply chain program, contract negotiations and vendor selection, when necessary, to supplement group purchasing contracts. Establishes levels of performance and sets expectations for the evaluation of departmental directors within pharmacy services. Reviews departmental performance and effects change as needed to improve services. Provides supervision to departmental staff and direct reports. Education and experience requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy degree required Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Health Care Delivery Science, or related field required Current Delaware pharmacist licensure or license eligible (licensure attained prior to start date) Minimum 10 years proven and progressive pharmacy program administration and healthcare leadership experience required ChristianaCare is one of the country's most multidimensional health systems, centered on improving health outcomes, making high-quality care more accessible and lowering health care costs.
