Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION: Providing key administrative support with the day to day operations of the Operating Room as well oversee the Operating Room Human Tissue compliance office. Responsibilities for this position include: Supervise all Operating Room PCA's. Maintain PCA vacation/time off spreadsheet and update weekly. Ensure all Operating room floors are properly staffed with PCA coverage Handle the day to day lunch relief of all PCA's Human Tissue Compliance Officer Responsible for the ordering and tracking of all Human Tissue devices needed within the O.R. Confirm designated tissue banks licenses and credentialing. Log all Human Tissue being delivered to the Operating Room. Reconciling all Tissue products/Medical Devices that were implanted into patients. Record and Report any adverse finding that pertain to the use of human tissue products. Coordinate weekly staff meeting with Operating Room Nurse educator and Associate Director of Nursing Assist O.R. Management team with the support of First Case Start initiative: Checking in with the Head Nurse/Staff Nurse ensuring that there O.R. suites has what is needed. Collaborating with Materials Management/Central Sterile that request being fulfilled to ensure O.R. room having the needed supply/instruments. Identifying any potential delay and notifying the assigned attending of any issues that may arise. Ensure that changes (i.e. cancellations of planned surgical cases, add-on cases) are communicated to all relevant parties within established time frames, monitor/track cancellations and follow-up to ensure case is appropriately cancelled. Notify support services such as IT, Stretcher Control, Environmental etc. as needed/ requested. Maintain the service agreement/contracts for O.R. services (Stryker, Crothall, Censis, NYBC etc.) Maintain the ordering of O.R. equipment, Capital and the ordering of professional gases within the Operating Room department. Assist OR director with plotting/scheduling monthly grid for 100+ staff members; send out daily staff schedules to Assistant Director and update changes and communicate to director any discrepancies. Other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor and/or O.R. management team. Minimum Qualifications 1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration, health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or 2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in "1" above, and one (1) year of administrative experience; or 3.
