CNC Operator Job DescriptionJob Summary We are seeking a skilled Lead CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines in a manufacturing facility while also leading and efficiently running a shift. This role is essential for ensuring the production of high-quality components while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role is also 2nd pany OverviewCompany has been in business for 40yrs operating with family-oriented environment experiencing a lot of growth.Expanding fabrication space to add 2nd shift to keep up with growth.Responsibilities - Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and production schedules. - Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to produce precise parts. - Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure adherence to specifications. - Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for accurate measurements. - Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation. - Handle materials safely, including loading and unloading parts using a forklift when necessary. - Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. - Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.Requirements -• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock. • Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. • Loads machine with work pieces. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces • Maintains specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; editing programs; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.need someone who is experienced in G code programming, No specific softwareThey should also have experience working with stainless steel and carbon stainless steelThey should be experienced in making tooling changes, Troubleshooting and making adjustments on the flyWe would like to see experience with chuck work, Understanding the type of chuck to use, workpiece alignment, Toolpath Planning, Balancing speed and feed, Part Off and safety proceduresSome Metallurgy KnowledgeThreading Geometry knowledgeBenefits - Health, vision, supplemental insurance, PTO, Paid HolidaysIf you are passionate about precision manufacturing and meet the qualifications outlined above, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as a CNC Operator.Apply here or send your resume directly to qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.GPAC (Growing People and Companies) is an award-winning search firm specializing in placing quality professionals within multiple industries across the United States since 1990.
