Licensed Practical Nurse (PT) PHMC is proud to be a leader in public health. PHMC requires that all employees are fully vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine before the first day of employment. The week-end LPN is responsible for providing medical support to IHI participants in the residential programs. Primary duties include: administration of medication, dispensing of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), transcribing medication, transcribe monthly Medication Administration record (MAR) taking urine drug screens, handling sick call, completing nursing assessments, auditing medication. The individual in this position must be able to provide an emotionally safe environment for women recovering from substance use, trauma and/or co-occurring disorders, as well as working in a therapeutic community. Responsibilities: Administer medication, including MAT's and injectable's Adhere to IHI's controlled substance policy Adhere to medication discharge policy when needed Perform comprehensive nursing assessments Perform Urine Drug Screens (UDSs') In collaboration with RN, Transcribe Medication Records every month Complete medication inventory Handle and process of medication refills to Tepper Pharmacy Handle sick call and provide written report to RN Health Care Coordinator Assist with prior authorizations for medication when needed Assist RN in the coordination of client medical appointments that may occur over weekend Follow-up with clients after all medical appointments When needed, provide coverage for resident assistants Maintain medical records for clients. In collaboration with RN, coordinate client's medical needs and significant diagnoses and treatment with client's primary therapist and facility psychiatrist. Coordinate client prescriptions with the pharmacy and mark the client MEDICAL ASSISTANCE number on the back of all prescriptions before sending them to the pharmacy. Follow up on health problems and health assessments under direction of RN Nurse Manager Maintain standard precautions among staff and residents. Remove old prescriptions/return to Tepper's Pharmacy Ensure all significant incidents are properly reported to all appropriate agencies In crisis or emergency situations, provide support to staff on duty to help resolve conflict Be available to participate in week-day holiday rotation schedule with other LPN's Perform Covid-19 screenings Provide nursing care to clients in quarantine Other duties as assigned by RN or Program Director. Skills: Competent in Medication Administration, reading and interpreting critical lab values, perform UDS, and complete Nursing Assessments Understand and apply setting-specific policies and procedures for handling crisis or dangerous situations, including safety measures for clients and staff. Experience: Thorough knowledge of chemical dependency and other addictions and appropriate treatment modalities Qualifications and Educational Requirement: Graduate of an accredited certification program for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Updated Criminal Record, FBI and Child Abuse Clearances CPR and First Aid Certification Valid Driver's License Minimum one year of experience in a behavioral health care setting Experience in working with diverse populations and knowledge of diverse cultural needs. Basic understanding of medical and psychosocial causes relevant to chemical dependent persons. Ability to work with and educate non-medical staff. Knowledge of chemical dependency and the recovery process. Salary: $25 per hour Days & Hours per week: Every other Saturday & Sunday-8:30am to 12:30pm
