Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Check us out online: DescriptionPurpose of Position:In this role, the successful candidate's primary focus will be to see patients in the emergency room with chest pain and heart failure that could be considered for early discharge from the ED utilizing expedited cardiac testing and medical therapy. The candidate will conduct clinical assessment, provide same day stress testing, coronary CTA or rapid diuresis (for HF patients) in order to expedite flow and discharges from ED. The candidate(s) will also support the cardiac noninvasive diagnostic lab and liaison with Radiology for coronary CT angiographyExamples of Typical Tasks:Assess low and intermediate risk chest pain patients in the ED and provide support to coordinate and prepare patient for prompt coronary CTA with radiology or stress testing in diagnostic cardiologyInitiate expedited diuresis of heart failure patients eligible for discharge from EDSupport clinical activities in diagnostic cardiology suitePerform bubble studies to evaluate cardiac shuntsPerform Definity contrast studies (IV injection) for echocardiogramsEnhance safety of the diagnostic suiteRespond to patients who decompensate during stress tests / PFTs / tilt table testingParticipates in the development of policy, education, evaluation and management of clinical personnel and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.Participates in Departmental PI and QA established dress guidelines.Attends departmental and hospital required education and trainingCompletes electronic documentation as per Hospital policyAttends departmental and hospital required training/educational classes.Responsible for maintaining necessary CMEAdheres to all Hospital Mandated education, In-service and recredentialing processPerforms these duties and responsibilities with a deep commitment to human dignity, respect and basic human rights expands this commitment to all working relationships with patients, visitors and fellow employees.Minimum Qualifications1. Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant; and, 2. Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); and, 3.
