Job Type: Officer of Administration Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $63,700 - $70,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Operations, the Housing Specialist will serve as a primary contact, ensuring excellent customer service within Residential Operations. This role supports students, faculty, researchers, administrators, and members of the University's neighboring community. Responsibilities Address and resolve client concerns by evaluating their needs and referring them to appropriate resources or key personnel within Columbia Residential or the University when necessary. Manages cases for students, faculty, researchers, and others residing in Columbia Residential. When needed, the Housing Specialist will meet with residents to assist in resolving issues. Additionally, the Specialist will provide guidance and training on University policies, processes, and residential software in both individual and small group settings. Responsible for close collaboration with other Columbia Residential team members and University departments to ensure client concerns are handled effectively. Other duties include: Administering customer satisfaction surveys. Managing day-to-day front office operations. Entering data, and generating reports on housing supply and assignments. Additional responsibilities will include special projects and tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 2-4 years of related experience, ideally in a University, Residence Life, or Customer Service environment. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while working with a diverse, international population of university affiliates. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently, lead teams, and interact with various levels of management. Experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and working in multicultural environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in data processing and computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, is essential.
