About the Organization Upper Montclair is a private 27-hole golf club located 9 miles West of New York City. The course was originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1929. In the 1950's, a major course renovation was directed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. which transformed Upper Montclair Country Club into its present 27-hole Championship design. Upper Montclair Country Club has a strong tradition of producing championship conditions and is considered to be one of the best private clubs in northern New Jersey. Description About the Job We are looking for a candidate responsible for running food and bussing tables in the a la carte dining room, catering to all members and guests needs according to established rules and etiquette. Busser/Runners work closely with servers, bartenders, and the culinary team to provide members and guests with an enjoyable dining experience. Job Type: Part-time Responsibilities Delivers food from the kitchen to dining area tables in a timely, accurate manner. Assists servers with table preparation for all food coming out. Pours and refills water. Facilitates bread and butter service. Assists with clearing and resetting tables. Prepares for coffee and dessert. Maintains a clean, orderly appearance of the restaurant service area and follows all proper sanitation guidelines. Exhibits strong food knowledge, knows menu descriptions and can identify dishes. Other duties include setting up the kitchen area where the food is expedited and making sure that everything is stocked, this includes wiping trays so that they are clean when the food is served. Requirements Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends and holidays). Responsible, dependable, organized and punctual. Strong communication skills. Able to carry full-service tray steadily and comfortably. Able to stand and walk for long periods of time. ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate. Positive attitude. Knowledge of service etiquette and protocol. Working knowledge of culinary, fine spirit, wine, and beer terminology. Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 35 lbs. daily is required. Working split shifts and shifts that may exceed 12 hours in duration. Must be able to work weekends and holidays Salary $15.13/hr. EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
