The Publications Coordinator works closely with editorial, design, sales, and circulation staff, assisting with various tasks essential to producing upcoming editions. This role provides general administrative support for the division and involves most aspects of the Publications Department's work. This is a Part Time position, approximately 25 hours per week. This position requires being onsite in our New York City office. Primary Job Duties Manage database entry and maintenance using Microsoft Access. Prepare and process monthly invoices and payment summary reports for the Finance Department. Handle incoming email correspondence and mail for the Publications Department. Assist with scanning, filing/archiving, tagging, and keywording AKC Publications images/photos for multipurpose use - an ongoing, time-intensive project to be prioritized as time permits. Support the Family Dog Holiday and Summer Gift Guides by editing text and reviewing product images for advertorial layouts, serving as backup for ad traffic and billing processes. Manage Breed illustrations by contacting clubs, working with reference images, and processing illustrator's contracts and communications. Process paperwork and communications with photographers and writers. Oversee correspondence and documentation for the annual Photo Contest, including agreements. Proofread and edit layouts for the AKC Family Dog and AKC Gazette publications. Requires SKills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements Proven administrative experience supporting various departmental functions in a corporate setting. Previous experience in journalism, publications is helpful. Excellent communication, organizational/record-keeping, and time-management skills are required. Experience using Microsoft Access as well as other Microsoft Office applications. The salary range for this position in New York City is $24.00-$26.50 per hour, with a maximum of 25 hours per week; however, the salary offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
