To learn more about GSCY, visit our website: Somerville/Bridgewater YMCAs are looking for welcoming, natural relationship builders who are also safety oriented to be Building Supervisors in our Evening and Weekend Keyholder shifts. This role is responsible for engaging members and staff using the Y's service and engagement principles as well as being responsible for upholding the integrity of our "member first culture" by being self accountable and role modeling exceptional member service. This person must be able to lead staff and volunteers and make sure that everyone follows safety standards and policies of the YMCA. In addition, they ensure that every member of staff is building relationships with members and guests. Essential Functions: Responsible for all programs and facility operations of the branch in the absence of Director level staff. Reviewing that all staff are at their posts and are supported. Responsible for addressing all member concerns as the "first point of contact". Be solution oriented to provide alternatives and create a positive outcome. Document concern and solution provided with the Membership Director. Engaging members and building relationships throughout shift. Remind staff of ways to demonstrate our purpose and use on-the-spot recognition. Responsible for completing an end of shift report and submitting electronically to the Membership Director. Responsible for the opening/closing of the branch facility as well as monitoring security procedures and facility operations, during their assigned shift as applicable. Primary responder to all security and fire alarms, incidents, and accidents. Submits reports as needed Requirements Qualifications: Possess at least three years of member/customer service, hospitality, or other job-related experience. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent education. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn our database program (training provided). Must be able to work without direct supervision and have the confidence to lead others, make quick decisions, and work as a team while being reliable, flexible, and adaptable. Must possess the competence and confidence to supervise a safe environment for all members and staff by working with all departments to provide a quality environment. Must demonstrate above average communication and problem solving skills. Must be able to familiarize oneself and retain knowledge and understanding of YMCA policies, procedures, and best practices in an adaptable format to a "member first culture". Must be able to be certified in CPR/AED and First Aid upon hire (training provided). Must have the skills, knowledge, and genuine willingness to assume a visible, welcoming presence in the facility. This individual is required to stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating physical stamina and agility. The Cause Driven Leader on Duty must be friendly and professional at all times. HOURS: Flexible Part Time Hours are Available! Specifically looking for weekday evenings (6pm-10pm), weekend mornings(6:45am-12pm) and weekend afternoons(12pm-5pm).
