Job DescriptionAUTOMOTIVE FLEET MECHANICThis position is located at our Distribution Center. The Automotive Fleet Mechanic is responsible for efficient repair and maintenance of all light duty gasoline engines, and related equipment. This position normally is a Monday through Friday work week. Occasional over-time may be required depending on work load demands.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not inclusive) Diagnosing and repairing gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains, and brake and electrical systems. Perform related assigned work as requested from Shop Foreman. Perform preventative maintenance on automotive fleet engines and equipment. Ability to diagnose and repair minor repairs do to drive ups. Prepare work order documenting; hours worked, parts used, etc. in a timely manner. Meeting or exceed all established Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, State, local and company safety regulations, policies and procedures. Pass a drug and background screen. Be respectful, courteous and professional to all company members and vendors at all times. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, be driven to complete assignments diligently and timely. Perform at a high level with minimal supervision. Work in a mechanic shop environment that includes petroleum liquids, fumes, loud noises, dust, grease, and ambient temperature conditions. Demonstrate effective communication when dealing with co-worker and vendors. Ability to use computers and software for trouble shooting equipment diagnostic trouble codes and determine which parts or supplies are required to complete repairs. Be able to read and understand maintenance instruction manuals, databases and company reports as it relates to accomplishing your job responsibilities. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Must have a 609 Automotive AC Certification. General Motors Certification preferred. Working knowledge of GM Encore, Tech II Diagnostics, and Generic OBD II Diagnostics Microsoft software package suite experience preferred; working knowledge of basic EXCEL. This position requires at least three years' minimum automotive experience in all phases of vehicle repair and diagnostics. Familiarity with; Data Technician Maintenance Support Program, IATN (International Automotive Technicians Network), Diesel Engine System Operation. Applicants for this position must be at least eighteen years old. Salary Ranges: The actual compensation offered to the selected individual(s) will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors. $25 - $33
