Company Description: Our client is a state-of-the-art design build manufacturer of electrical equipment enclosures, switchboards/switchgear, industrial control panels and panelboards. We have the expertise and experience to build medium and low voltage switchgear and integrate them with state-of-the-art controls. Job Summary: The electrical engineer will work with sales staff to interpret customer drawings and specifications and develop electrical system requirements, provide design drawings, calculations and detailed schematic diagrams. The electrical engineer will provide technical support to manufacturing staff and interface with vendors, technical partners, and contractors as needed to support project completion. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Assist in the electrical design and development effort using standard engineering principles, practices and techniques. Carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into production. Provide conceptual design drawings and system block diagrams as part of the design requirements and interface specifications development. Evaluate OEM suppliers for equipment such as generators, UPS systems, switchgear, switchboards, breakers, and controls for development, continuous product improvement and cost reduction. Manage, specify, coordinate, and communicate engineering designs with outside vendors through clear and concise engineering documentation. Assist with the application of products to meet preliminary and specific project requirements including sizing and specifying complete power systems. Research and provide interpretation of applicable codes and standards. Provide assistance with the development of all technical specifications, Bill of Materials and associated documentation. Provide application support to internal and external customers. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements/Experience Minimum 3+ years experience in the design of power system. Current knowledge of compliance requirements for pertinent codes, regulations and standards to include UL891, UL1558, UL508A, NEC, NFPA. Experience in the design, operation and maintenance of switchgear, generators, UPS, controls, and power monitoring systems. PLC programming experience a plus. Demonstrated project management skills, organization/time management skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to travel. Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment. Required Education: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Experience will be considered in place of degree.
