Primary Responsibilities Proactively own and manage the PowerBI/PowerApp pipeline of projects across H.I.G. Design a clean and organized PowerBI workspace setup within H.I.G. with relevant roles and responsibilities Provide Governance (and guardrails) on PowerBI and PowerApp usage across H.I.G. Design a training and awareness roadmap for employees to exploit PowerBI with the right guard-rails Maintain all existing and future PowerBI/PowerApp reports/workflows Manage a team of external PowerBI and PowerApp experts to help build and deploy finalized reports Make sure reports are validated and aesthetically clean in design Manage the relationship with our external PowerBI and PowerApp external vendors Understand the H.I.G. data sets and become an expert of our H.I.G. data sets across our systems Liaise with H.I.G. business departments who are requesting PowerBI reports to develop business requirements and technical requirements Communicate business needs and requirements to external developers Develop testing plans to ensure testing performed prior to business handoff and final user acceptance testing is signed off on. Prepare documentation of process procedures and liaise between the H.I.G. business users (internal and external) Assist with change management - communication and ongoing training to H.I.G. business users Efficiently manage all PowerBI development projects and timelines, including tracking meeting minutes, next steps, open items and addressing risk/concerns Research: Assist with research on project topics (e.g. PowerBI functionality, etc.) Source, analyze, and draw potential conclusions from key data sets Work with IT to set up new PBI functionality, resolve issues, and handle security assignments Required Skills and Qualifications School and Prior Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in a Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics Minimum 5 years of experience within a Business Intelligence or Data consultancy role Technical skills: Expert in Power BI and Power BI report builder (paginated reports), including DAX and Power Querying Strong Data Modelling skills. Knowledgeable in Power BI Service functionality including workspaces, apps, usage metrics, recurring refreshes, dataset access and row level security (RLS). Experience working with finance data sets and knowledge of common financial data modeling an advantage At least 3 years of SQL experience Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure Proficient in Excel Exposure to other BI tools an advantage (Tableau, Qlik, Domo etc) Strong Data Management experience, in particular understand the role of data quality End to end knowledge of data warehouse and reporting processes General Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrate high degree of critical and strategic thinking Ability to work through complex issues and challenges and present business stakeholders with clear options for remediation Understanding of Private Equity business processes preferred Ability to learn quickly and take initiative to learn independently Ability to work within a team as well as perform tasks independently Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage competing and multiple priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in data storytelling Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
