ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY We are hiring a full-time Purchasing Manager to join our Purchasing Department. The role of Purchasing Manager is to develop and oversee all aspects of procurement and distribution of all Food and Beverage inventories, general supplies and services. The Purchasing Manager plays an integral role in supporting the Purchasing Director and works closely with various departments in sourcing products, supplies, materials and equipment, managing inventory control to meet departments' needs and quality standards. WHAT YOU'LL DO Assist in planning, organizing, directing and controlling all purchasing functions of the Club to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price while adhering to Club policies and standards set by the Director of Purchasing. Liaise with Director of Purchasing in ordering all F&B products and General supplies according to Club needs and specifications. Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries of all food and beverage items and general supply items to meet the operational needs outlined by the Department Heads. Review the quality of all products received and delivered and ensure the team is doing the same. Initiate and suggest ideas for new products to assist the Purchasing team to improve efficiency. Supervise purchasing staff, training, coaching, counseling and discipline, to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of the purchasing Department, such as ordering, receiving, issuing and storing. Personally check and ensure appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover. Ensure cleanliness of Food and Beverage and General supplies' storerooms. Maintain the integrity and conduct periodic audits of the procurement system. Manage special projects as assigned by Director of Purchasing. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Club's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work. Performs other functions as requested. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum three to five years purchasing and inventory experience at a similar volume Club or Hotel. Three to five years of supervisory experience required, in a similar capacity. Experience with procurement Cedar Creek system preferred. Must possess solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook and a good working knowledge of Excel. Ability to type, maximize usage of automated inventory systems and create spreadsheets and reports. Solid mathematical and computer skills to order items and track deliveries. Ability to apply basic supervisory skills to plan, organize, direct employees, coach, train and discipline, as necessary. Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to prepare cost analysis including monthly food and beverage costs by outlet; banquet function specific costs and other analysis as required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs. Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time, lifting and moving boxes of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Bend, lift, reach and push to perform routine job tasks. Frequent walking and standing (up to 8 hours a day) and occasional sitting (when driving). Intermittent squatting, bending, twisting. Periodically required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short distances, using appropriate hand trucks and carts. Work in various temperatures - kitchen, refrigerator & freezer.
