Area General Manager - Fairfield, NJ Experience Level: Mid-senior Experience Required: 5 Years Education Level: Bachelor's degree Job Function: Management Industry: Hospitality Compensation: $91,000 - $100,000 Total Position: 1 Relocation Assistance: No Job Overview: We are looking for an Area General Manager in our Fairfield, NJ branch. The Area General Manager is a key stakeholder within our team, ensuring customer satisfaction, leading company guidelines and processes, and ultimately company profitability. Responsibilities: Work closely with the Distribution Manager, Warehouse, and Service in daily operations and holding departments and staff accountable. Ensure all branch departments work as one team. Identify customer issues quickly, and respond promptly with appropriate communication and/or corrective action. Coordinate execution of field pricing changes and other strategic projects. Coordinate new account execution and assist with client management & retention. Collaborate with other departments to improve business processes, efficiencies, and best practices. Champion a safety-focused work environment. Carrie out all leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Qualifications: 5 years of combined management experience required, preferably within the distribution industry. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain security clearance for customer locations. Effective communicator and collaborator with a passion for developing talent through coaching and accountability. Demonstrated urgency and problem-solving skills with dedication to customer service and associate accountability. Ability to learn and work with database inventory management software, route scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. and perform work in outside weather conditions. Position Summary: Functions as the in-unit leader for multiple accounts and/or contracts within a defined geography. Acts as a single point of contact and client liaison in support of multi-site operations. Key Duties: Monitor operations through planned and unplanned visits to each operating account to plan projects, implement new processes, and ensure sufficient resources. Develop business plans and budgets with each account GM that support System and District goals. Review and analyze financial statements and data to ensure attainment of financial goals. Act as Central Point of Contact for Client Liaison, promoting a solid business partnership and assisting in contract negotiations. Maintain Quality & Company Standards by reviewing reports to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Responsible for succession planning, employee development, diversity initiatives, training, and constructive counseling. Provide strategic leadership to maintain client satisfaction and retention. Basic Qualifications & Requirements: Basic Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Basic Management Experience: 5 years.
