Core Responsibilities:Evaluate the design and operation of Unit Substation Protection equipment, settings and schemesGather all relevant data for Unit Substation Protection specifications, settings and design drawings draftingGather all relevant data for Appropriation Funding Documentation RequestsGather all relevant data for White Paper Project and Program RequestsRepresent the department and the group at meetings and site visits as required during normal and emergency conditionsUse technical knowledge and competence to develop Unit Substation Protection design improvementsIdentify cost-saving opportunities related to testing, maintenance and operation Unit Substation Protection equipmentWrite, revise, and update department's specifications and documentsIdentify areas to improve the performance and increase efficiency of Unit Substation Protection equipmentMake technical and economic studies to determine the best design features of Unit Substation Protection equipmentWork with internal and external customers including Electric Operation crews, Supply Chain, EH&S, Engineering groups, vendors, manufacturers and support staff and various levels of managementPerform other tasks and assignments as requiredWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Ability to write engineering specifications and interpret technical proposals in support of procurement processes and equipment requirements Must possess experience in areas of electrical design and construction. Possess strong organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
