The Head of Strategic Development. will lead Nasdaq's efforts to expand the depth and breadth of market adoption of Nasdaq's index offering. This role will lead cross-functional teams to identify market trends, customer needs, and untapped opportunities within the Self-Directed, Wealth, and Institutional channels. The individual will be responsible for crafting the strategy by which Nasdaq will capitalize on these growth opportunities, as well as the means of measuring progress to ensure efficient and successful execution. Description of the Role The Head of Strategic Development will lead Nasdaq's efforts to expand the depth and breadth of market adoption of Nasdaq's index offering. This role will lead cross-functional teams to identify market trends, customer needs, and untapped opportunities within the Self-Directed, Wealth, and Institutional channels. The individual will be responsible for crafting the strategy by which Nasdaq will capitalize on these growth opportunities, as well as the means of measuring progress to ensure efficient and successful execution. What You Will Do: Engage with Self-Directed, Wealth, and Institutional audiences on a global basis to identify where and how Nasdaq can provide solutions tailored to the specific investment challenges facing each investor persona across the markets in which Nasdaq operates. Define and communicate a compelling vision for the new and/or expanded products and services that align Nasdaq's mission, business objectives, and capabilities with the proposed solution. Design and implement a go-to-market strategy to execute on each opportunity, inclusive of how to resource, build, and invest incrementally to deliver on the strategy. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, and external partners to gain support for initiatives and secure the necessary resources. Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and project milestones The Level of Experience and Skills We Expect: 7-10 years prior experience leading business development/strategy within an index provider or asset management firm. A demonstrated track record of successfully expanding a firm's product offering and capabilities into new asset classes, investment vehicles, geographies, and/or distribution channels. Ability to cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the development and/or commercialization of a firm's product offering. Ability to identify potential targets for strategic investment and/or acquisition and execute the requisite due diligence. A meticulous documenter with an acute eye for detail and ability to proactively unearth potential problems and pitfalls before they afflict a project. A voracious learner that is eager to blend their previous experience with a deep understanding of Nasdaq's index business. A creative thinker that can "connect the dots" across a complex, multi-faceted organization. Ability to listen to clients, understand their objectives, and providing thoughtful and innovative solutions to help them achieve their investment goals. Self-motivated and able to work independently, requiring minimal direction and follow-up. The base pay range for this role is $166,300 - $277,100. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth.
