Responsible for overall internal financial management, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, payments, and cash management, as well as the development or adherence to the Country/Regional policies and procedures. Ensures company accounting procedures conform to SGS Group Financial Manual. In addition, a business controller is expected to partner with the business on topics of capital investments, pricing, net working capital management, and various business plans/initiatives to improve the business financial performance. • Prepare accurate and timely financial and management results for the nominated business lines in accordance with the Group Financial Manual • Partner with the business to deliver transparent financial insights and analysis to drive value and outcomes in the business through deep understanding of financial and business realities. • Be an agile thought partner to Business providing financial support on all matters with a focus on o Accuracy & Integrity of Business Unit financials. o Decision support o Financial analysis and modeling o Financial processes & systems. o Compliance with financial/ethical requirements. • Maintain a growth, efficiency and process improvement mindset and challenge the status quo. • Focus on adding value to the business by influencing decisions and identifying opportunities to invest, saving cost, avoiding/ mitigating risks, forecasting future business results, establishing, and interpreting leading indicators. • Establishes and maintains strong controls and compliance practices. • Supports Financial controller, Finance compliance lead in assigning and monitoring relevant controls, securing accountability also in assigned Units where applicable, including contributing or developing Units-specific SOPs/Operating instructions where necessary. • Work closely with Business Managers in the development of annual operational and capital budgets. • Assist operations in developing business and capex applications, challenging assumptions, and gaining a full understanding of the operational requirements/outcomes. • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for nominated accounts to ensure integrity and validation. Qualifications • 5 + years experience in finance business support in complex organization and commercial accounting experience • Ability to challenge the status quo and striving for continuous improvement. • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and to form meaningful relationships and influence key stakeholders to enhance business performance. • Advanced with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook) • Strong business acumen/business awareness with solid analytical background • Experience in accounting process design supporting strong internal controls and reconciliation practices. • Experience in financial/KPI monitoring, with the ability to explain variance to target and implement 'early warning.' • Ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines with several competing demands. • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations to different levels of management. • Minimum 5 years of experience with a minimum bachelor's in finance or related field Additional Information SGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and Indigenous status, or any other characteristics protected by law.
