The CNC Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager, they will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance; identifying potential issues that could interrupt machine uptime, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of various equipment used within the manufacturing environment. Essential Duties: Maintain the CNC equipment using a "Predictive/Preventive Maintenance Program", Minimize unplanned downtime Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of various types of machine tools - CNC and conventional machines, part washers, air benches, recyclers and other various production equipment Record completion of work orders by documenting in detail the steps taken, parts installed and repairs performed on all equipment utilizing a CMMS Execute other tasks as assigned Education and/or Experience High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years' experience as a machine maintenance technician SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems. Ability to read and use blue prints, electrical and hydraulic schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and other related technical documentation to assist in diagnosis and repair Must possess good communication skills Experience operating a fork lift (preferred) Good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn new procedures Follow verbal and written instructions Possession of a valid California driver's license Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40lbs Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Knowledge of operation and repair of at least one of the following : Haas, Mazak or Matsuura machine tools Experience participating on a Safety Committee and/or Emergency Response Team (ERT) Preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to type on a keyboard, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and/or visual depth perception This position may be regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time; or, use hand and/or fingers to type, handle or feel tools or equipment, for extended periods of time WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB: Office and manufacturing environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and/or manufacturing equipment
