JR. ACCOUNTANT Hours: Mon-Fri/8:30-4:30 PM Location: 129 Littleton Road in Parsippany Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years college or equivalent experience preferred The Accounting Department in Parsippany is searching a full-time Junior Accountant to assist with general accounting tasks. Basic accounting experience is required, will train the right candidate. Join a team of financial professionals eager to make a difference in the communities we serve. Essential Functions: Daily monitoring of cash box totals, outstanding checks, stop payments, return checks and unposted transactions. Daily reconciliation of ACH and Share Drafts transactions. On a weekly basis, tie out loan and deposit account sub-ledgers to the general ledger. Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fixed assets, depreciation, loan participations, etc. Prepare monthly account reconciliations on assigned accounts. Support the internal audit function by reviewing file maintenance reports monthly and performing branch cash counts quarterly. Skills and Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of college (Business/Accounting concentration) or equivalent experience is required. Credit union/banking experience is preferred but not required. Excellent math, written and verbal communication skills. Team player with a courteous attitude and ability to provide conflict resolution skills. Detail oriented with an ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft environment and all job-related software programs. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Professional office environment with moderate sound. Ability to move around the building as well as travel to other branches, off-site training, and/or meetings as needed. Ability to use office equipment such as computer, telephone, copier, adding machine, etc. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, with repetitive motions. Vision corrected to within normal limits. Ability to listen, hear, and understand team members, vendors, and auditors.
