A consumer products company in New Jersey s looking to add a new Automation & Controls Engineer to their growing team. In this role, the Automation & Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing and troubleshoot operations systems and equipment & developing and installing new production processes Responsibilities: The Automation & Controls Engineer will: Design, develop and maintain new or existing control systems as part of continuous improvement or capital projects Design, develop and maintain process system databases (SQL) that support the manufacturing control and monitoring systems Support project startup assistance and training for control systems Support or manage small to medium size Automation & Controls capital projects Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) resources for the integration and resolution of server, PC, database, HMI, and Ethernet networks, and other hardware or software related issues Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing control systems, to include, but not limited to, electrical schematics, SOP's, training manuals, Functional Requirements Documents, Functional Specification Documents, and P&ID's Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Microsoft Office proficient Knowledge of industry codes and standards Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills Effective at handling multiple projects simultaneously Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Desired Skills: 5 years of experience as Automation & Controls Engineer Working experience in a manufacturing or Process Safety Management (PSM) environment Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools & techniques
