Join us at the intersection of INGENUITY & INCLUSION About the Role Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer I to join our Team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. The Senior Civil Engineer will support and manage project engineering and document control from the site field office, concentrating on the schedule, budget updates, correspondence logs, and requests for information. The purpose of these programs is to communicate career opportunities and promote workforce diversity within the Agency. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities: (Includes, but not limited to, the following) Signs and seals assigned project documents. Prepares complex design computations, plans and related construction documents. Prepares complex quantity and cost estimates. Prepares complex reports, studies and permits for various projects. Analyzes and interprets a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Prepares engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment. Coordinates staff activities to ensure project budget, schedule and quality goals are achieved. Assists in the review and preparation of engineering agreements for projects. Attends client and public meetings as necessary. Responsible for contract administration with clients and subconsultants. Monitors work-in-process and assists in directing and/or supervision of the work of other engineers activities on projects. May assist in client invoicing and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on projects. May serve as onsite project representative and/or provide construction observation duties in the field. Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents. Ensures that projects documents and files are organized. Prepares and presents technical information to colleagues and clients. Assists Project, Design and/or Office Managers as requested. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or approved equivalent required. Should possess a minimum of 6 years of related experience. Actively Registered Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer desired. Must possess EIT license in the absence of license with defined path and schedule to obtaining licensure. Other licensure or registration) may be considered in lieu Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer licensure. Working Conditions IEI will provide a company vehicle for fieldwork with acceptable driver's record. Must be physically capable of walking and moving about on the construction sites, have good hand-eye coordination, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or in-progress construction hazards: fumes, toxic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and vibration. Often works around dust, asphalt, and concrete. Sometimes need to put in extra hours, including weekends, to keep up with intense construction work at times and deal with unexpected situations and accidents. Spends some time working indoors to review blueprints and write reports. Usually works a standard 40-hour workweek either daytime or nighttime. Usually works in outside weather conditions.
