Controls Engineer - Food About the Role : We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support and optimize control systems at a cutting-edge production facility focused on high-quality nutritional ingredients. This role will collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams, playing a key part in troubleshooting, enhancing performance, and supporting plant expansion projects. Key Responsibilities : Conduct preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance on control and network systems. Design, code, test, and debug programs, modifying them as necessary to maintain plant operations. Create user-friendly HMI graphics and process diagrams, automating tasks and providing clear messaging for operators. Oversee external controls vendors to ensure project standards are met. Ensure control system reliability through maintenance plans for PLCs. Collaborate with IT to manage network communications and address security risks. Maintain spare parts and software/hardware licensing for uninterrupted operations. Offer 24/7 support for critical systems and provide training for local teams. Foster a safety-first culture within the controls team. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience. At least 3 years of controls engineering experience, preferably in a food processing environment. Expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs and Logix programming. Familiarity with HMI tools such as Factory Talk View and Aveva InTouch. Strong knowledge of control system design and troubleshooting. Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
