Starting Rate of Pay : $18.00 per hourEmployment Skills TrainerFull Time, Monday-Friday, 7am-3pmSUMMARY OF DUTIESThe Employment Skills Trainer provides direct individualized work skills training and work supervision to a small group of individuals receiving services (hereinafter referred to as "individuals"). This position will also complete yearly assessments and performs other related duties as assigned.SKILLS & ABILITIESGood organizational skillsHigh level of interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently within the communityPossess good time management skillsAbility and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary teamHigh level of written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of behavioral techniques and developmental disabilities to assist in the care of individualsKnowledge of current literature and trends related to the professionKnowledge of computer and ability to utilize word processing programsFamiliarity with applicable standardized/non-standardized tests and assessment toolsFirst Aid training will be provided upon hireEDUCATION & TRAININGPreferred: Bachelor's Degree plus two years' experience in production or manufacturing and/or work with the developmentally disabled populationMinimum: High school graduate or equivalency plus two years' experience in production or manufacturing and/or work with the developmentally disabled populationValid New York State driver's license in good standing, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportationKey words: Direct Support Professional, DSP, Human Services, Social Work, Vocational Trainer, Employment Skills, Rehabilitation Counselor
