OGS Machining is a CNC Job Shop that is currently looking for a full-time CNC Machinist position for 3rd Shift. Standard shop hours are (4) ten-hour days - Mon-Thurs. 8:00pm - 6:00am, with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed. OGS Machining is a medium-volume, production job shop whose average machining order is pcs. 75% of our jobs are made from bar stock with the remaining 25% are machining castings or billet. All parts can easily be held in your hand, no cranes or material handling equipment are necessary. The majority of our CNC turning equipment is less than 4 years old, and state-of-the-art. Job Summary Responsible for set-up, occasional program editing (at the controls) and operation of variety of CNC Equipment, including vertical mills, horizontal lathes, Swiss lathes for production. Ability to conduct Quality Inspections to meet customer specifications. Essential Functions Setup mills and lathes for production machining. Prove out and inspect first piece for each setup. Troubleshoot, edit, and optimize existing programs to ensure efficient overall production (most of our programming is done at the control via G-code). Document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized. Oversee the quality of parts produced in the machining cell and for other operators during the shift by using approved gauging and measuring techniques. Properly use inspection equipment, production inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures, and work instructions. To be proactively aware of work load and plan tooling requirements for future jobs ensuring minimum downtime To make most efficient use of machinery and equipment, including the use of proper feeds and speeds, cutter compensation and modern programming strategies. Inspect and deburr parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper measuring instruments. Take ownership of the quality of parts you produce. Help produce jigs and fixtures that improve productivity Use skill and caution to prevent damage to machinery and equipment (crashes, etc) Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, and keep your work area clean and tidy. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Requirements At least 2 years experience of working unaided on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a job shop environment. Must have a good understanding of CNC programming structure, tooling theory, and speeds / feeds for various materials. Previous experience with Fanuc controls preferred. Any manual programming or program editing experience is a plus. Previous experience with Doosan turning and machining centers is helpful (but not required) - we own a twin-turret Puma TT2100SYY, and a sub-spindle Lynx 2100LYSB, both with Y-axis and live milling. We also have a new Doosan DNM-5700 with Fanuc iHMI control, and Renishaw probing. Must be able to identify critical blueprint dimensions and how to inspect/ check these critical dimensions. Strong GD&T skills a plus. Possession of own measuring tools / gages is a plus - our QC department can provide gages as needed, and will calibrate any/all personal gages owned by the employee. Ability to work on a wide variety of complex parts from drawings. Ability to change and adapt work behaviors based on a constantly changing production schedule. Must be dependable and detailed oriented.
