Summary of Position: The Department of Medicine at the Katz School of Medicine has outstanding opportunities for fellowship-trained gastroenterologists to join a nationally recognized program with a rich history. Successful candidates will provide the highest quality clinical care, be intensely interested in education, and pursue academic activities. Candidates must be mission-driven and can work cooperatively and collegially within a multidisciplinary, diverse environment. Opportunities exist for individuals of all experience levels with different clinical interests in various practice settings and Temple sites (TUH-Main, TUH Jeanes- FCCC) including urban and community. The Gastroenterology Section at Temple University Hospital is one of the nations most comprehensive centers for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders, covering the full breadth of gastrointestinal diseases and liver disorders. We utilize some of the most advanced diagnostic technologies available in the country and specialize in advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures that are only available in select centers. Our large and varied clinical practice takes advantage of the peerless state-of-the-art facilities of our Temple Digestive Disease Center equipped with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies for the management of everything from complex motility disorders and pancreatico-biliary diseases, to small intestinal conditions requiring deep, device-assisted enteroscopy and advanced endoscopic surgical techniques like POEM (Per oral Endoscopic Myotomy). In addition to our varied clinical activities, we are committed to the education and training of physicians. We offer a three-year fellowship that reflects the clinical activities of a large urban tertiary care referral hospital with the research opportunities provided by an outstanding faculty of recognized experts.
