CHANDLER UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT TITLE: SENIOR NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNICIAN REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY SALARY: SUPPORT HOURLY SALARY SCHEDULE Job Goal Responsible for managing, maintaining and customizing district network enterprise systems and supporting infrastructures. This includes but is not limited to managing the infrastructure technicians, maintenance upgrades, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues on the LAN/WAN Design, deploy, and maintain networks and solutions that comply with district standards and security policies Minimum Qualifications Degree in computer science, college course in technology preferred Three or more years of relevant experience working with network hardware configuration and support Strong WAN/LAN background Experience with POTS, DSL, and ethernet Familiar with BICSI standards Good human relations and communication skills Broad knowledge of relevant district, state and federal policies and laws Excellent computer skills and ability to work with standard software products Satisfactory criminal background check Strong documentation and communication skills Core Job Functions Administers systems and services related to district LAN and WAN for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users. Manages and provides technical leadership with fellow staff in troubleshooting networks, hardware, and connectivity Oversee the work with infrastructure technicians, field service technicians, engineers, ISP, and vendors Customer Support Assure compliance with required process standards, procedures, guidelines Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as required Maintain and inspect LAN and WAN infrastructure for issues Design and install high functioning computer network connections including cabling, copper, and fiber optic Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems, move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials Supervise projects concerning low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communications equipment, and other various low voltage relations systems Evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems and perform repairs as necessary Infrastructure survey and design Configure network hardware Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the network Perform necessary upgrades to the network and infrastructure Test and configure software, maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices Provide general electronic maintenance, including the installation and replacement of metallic and fiber-optic cable and upgrading electronic data transmission systems Perform a variety of clerical work Maintain records of supplies and other materials inventory Core Values/Professional Qualities Promote positive interactions with colleagues Promote positive interactions with students, parents, and community members Be responsible, reliable, and punctual Be flexible and adaptable to change Positively accept direction Direct constructive criticism toward improving the district Exercise positive problem-solving behavior and conflict resolution skills Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job Share sensitive student and staff information on a need-to-know basis Be a positive role model for students Adhere to District and school rules and procedures Physical Requirements - Office Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable for the job.
