We currently have an opening for a General Adjuster to handle large property losses in the Philadelphia NJ region.POSITION SUMMARY:A General Adjuster is responsible for overseeing and settling complex property claims, typically valued at over $100K. It is a field position with responsibility at a high technical level with very limited supervision.POSITON RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor the settlement of complex and unusual exposure cases to resolution through direction, evaluation, and negotiation within limits of authority.Direct, investigate, negotiate, and settle large andor complex claims to resolution through Xactimate estimate writing, use of sketch, then follow up with direction, evaluation, and negotiation within limits of terpret coverage issues on assigned cases and prepare evaluations and recommendations on cases exceeding personal authority on claims where applicable, prepare Reservation of Rights letters, complete coverage investigations, determine how to proceed and carry through accordingly.Perform a thorough investigation of the loss including travel to loss sites as needed, at times after traditional business hours, review of vendor reports, securing recorded or signed statements, business records and reports, proof of loss, police reports, diagrams, photographs, or testimony from technical experts. Generally involved with more serious cases or those requiring special expertise. Travel to loss site for on-site inspection is required.Evaluate and appraise losses and apply relevant policy provisions to reach a settlement amount. This may include writing estimates and acquiring agreed prices for personal and commercial property damage; obtaining business and accounting records necessary to evaluate, calculate and negotiate business income losses.Determine appropriate claim reserves and review for potential subrogation opportunities on assigned cases, ensuring optimal subrogation recovery potential. Maintain proper diary.Prepare all worksheets, forms, documentation and reporting duties to create a file that is capable of being used by others to monitor progress or continue efficient handling of a claim.Prepare drafts, negotiate settlements, and perform all tasks required to close a case and effect efficient and fair settlement of claims. This may include the proper handling of subrogation and disposal of salvage or property owned by the Company to reduce paid loss amounts.May attend trials, depositions, and court settlement conferences as appropriate.Provide technical assistance to staff and assist in training as needed.Fill in for supervisor when required.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work and insurance related education. Xactimate Certification, Adjuster's license, Minimum 7+ years of claims experience including construction experience and experience with fire losses.
