What You'll Do: Discover and track growing songs and writers for the A&R team, explore what is causing the growth and the story behind the data Research available writers and maintain internal records Develop new methods and metrics to draw insights from existing data sources, investigate emerging data sources Work on coding projects to analyze and ingest data Design, execute, and present analytical projects that build the team's understanding of music trends Help with administrative needs such as documentation and manual database updates Who You Are: Current undergraduate or graduate student, preferably in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative discipline Music fan and knowledge of the modern music landscape, familiarity with music data Beginner to intermediate in Python and SQL Ability to provide answers to loosely defined questions and provide actionable insights Strong communication skills, comfortable relaying insights to both technical and non-technical audience Inquisitive and self-motivated Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
