Associate Designer - DKNY SuitsSuccess Profile:The Associate Designer assists in the creation and design for a competitive fashion product line that strikes a balance between relevant commercial product and brand right emotional fashion, that will collectively grow the business according to the brand strategic and financial objectives for the customer.BrandProduct Focus: DKNYLocation (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan - Fashion DistrictKey Accountabilities:Creates sketches for development, both hand and plete all aspects of design packages - sketching, tech packs, creating and maintaining line sheets Research and develop innovative trims each season. Research and source new fabrics.Prepare and maintain tech packs from initial development through anize and maintain design development including artwork, trims, fabric worksheets, initial development, finalized tech pack, line list, etc.Attend garment fittings and assist technical designers.Revise and update information in tech packs and communicate changesupdates to factories.Submit and approve artworkstrike-offs, wash panels, lab dips, etc. Proficient in both Illustrator flat sketches and hand sketches on a figure. Creates CAD presentations for internal and external use with speed and accuracy.Creates and maintains charts for overseas sample requests. Communicates daily with factories for ongoing Product Development.Sample Prep for meetings andor market. PLM data entry to create BOM's for production. Coordinates all domestic and overseas developmentEducation and Experience:3-5 years of professional design workCollege degree, or equivalent professional work experience, requiredExperience in a high SKU count environment, requiredGeneral understanding of apparel styles, components and constructionExperience with apparel timelines, calendars, and development processExperience in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop CS, MS Excel, and MS Office SuiteStrong communication skills, both written and oralWorking Knowledge of Microsoft OfficeSkills and Behaviors:Advanced MS Excel skills: data manipulation, pivot tables, v-lookupWorking knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop.Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detailConfident, engaging verbal and written communication skillsMotivated to work in a high energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever-changing prioritiesAbility to work independently and work to meet multiple deadlinesAbility to build and maintain relationships with other departments as well as vendors and other overseas officesThis job is full-time onsite in the office.The pay range for this position is: $80,000 - $90,000 per yearPlease note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.About G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. | excels at bringing excitement and confidence to customers through the fashion we create.
