Job Summary The Senior Contract Manager is accountable for contracting strategy development and execution in support of the Company's business plan for the nuclear generating fleet. This role oversees Contract Managers and/or Analysts. The primary purpose of this position is to lead within and across team functions to (i) develop contracting strategies for individual and program type projects; (ii) ensure timely and quality execution of supplier contracts for services and material; (iii) maintain proper administration and execution of those contracts throughout their lifecycle, and (iv) implement/manage Supplier Performance Management (SPM) programs. This position is also responsible for assisting in the resolution of supplier related grievances. This position is responsible for developing strategies related to contract negotiation planning and execution, sourcing and market research, contract management and supplier performance management as well as participating in cross-functional teams for the development of common policies and procedures. This position has extensive interaction with: Line of Business, Commercial Legal, Business Assurance & Resilience, Enterprise Credit Risk, Cyber Security, Finance, and others. This role requires to successfully be able to obtain unescorted access of the Nuclear Plant. Job Responsibilities • The position has responsibility to assure continuity of supply for all key contracted materials and services. This position will craft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of different contracts on a range of transactions. • This position will create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the point of contact for contract matters. This position handles technically complex projects and commercial negotiations that occur regularly in support of maintenance and operations. • The primary responsibilities for this position are the establishment and management of contracts for various projects including: (a) managing change orders, claims and back charges; (b) asserting warranty claims; (c) developing methods for assessing contractor performance; (d) dispute resolution and (e) implementing the appropriate processes and controls for protecting and preserving the Company's contractual rights and remedies as well as direct and/or matrixed employees. • For new contracts, this position will be responsible to plan, develop and coordinate innovative contracting strategies and solutions with business partner personnel, assist in clear and complete scope of work, and assessing the qualifications and capabilities of contractors through RFPs or other processes for smaller engagements between $1.5M to $10M or larger engagements greater than $10M. • The Sr Contracting Manager reports to the Category Manager / Procurement Operations Manager and will lead commercial negotiations. This position will be responsible for the oversight of Procurement Analyst personnel and/or Contractor(s) in support of the organization. • This individual will be responsible to communicate with senior stakeholders and provides matrixed support to Project Managers and periodic reports to senior Business Unit and Service Company management. Job Specific Qualifications Required • B.S./B.A. Degree • 10 years contract management experience • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, are mandatory, as well as a sound understanding of technology and telecommunications • Appropriately assess contractual risk and implement risk management strategies • Monitor and manage cost and change • Demonstrated excellent project management skills • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and develop plans; to interpret complex data; to effectively demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills • Define and manage deliverables and respective responsibilities between the Company and the contractor • Demonstrated excellent negotiating skills Demonstrated ability to: • Communicate both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner • Work independently and as part of a team, and to support and contribute to a cohesive team environment • Work a flexible schedule to meet required deadlines • Implement measures and methods to tie payment to performance • Demonstrated ability to work on concurrent tasks while effectively prioritizing and coordinating work assignments • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and execute next steps to reach resolution or complete tasks • Define and manage deliverables and respective responsibilities between the Company and the contractor • Valid US driver's license Desired • Leading process and providing oversight and direction to teams • Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering Minimum Years of Experience 10 years of experience Education Bachelor's Certifications Disclaimer Certain positions at the Company may require you to have access to Part 810-Controlled Information.
