About the Team: The AE is responsible for achieving booking, revenue, & profit objectives within their assigned account territories, including identifying sales opportunities through daily prospecting, qualifying opportunities, and efficiently leveraging Medidata resources in order to bring opportunities to successful conclusion. Account Executives create and build consultative, long-term relationships with their customers in order to create tailored, cost effective solutions. Personal involvement in customer relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction are essential to remain consistent with Medidata business principals. This role will report to the director of mid market sales, east. Responsibilities:Daily outbound calling through established campaigns to prospective customers / prospectsConsistent attainment of booking, revenue, and profit targets within assigned territoryAttainment of daily, weekly, quarterly productivity metricsEstablish and expand relationships with "C-Level" decision makers within customer / prospect organizations. Maintain well-coordinated internal relationships with key decision makersEducate prospects on Medidata's value proposition and solution portfolioDevelop external relationships with Medidata partnersDevelopment and execution of sales plan as it relates to developing a new book of business / newly assigned territoryDirectly responsible for closing sales transactions with clients and prospectsPartner with Market Development Specialists to close mid-market lead opportunitiesCoordination of resources within sales and other departmentsMaintaining and updating sales plans, account and opportunity data within company systems as directed, including Salesforce.Build customer loyalty, provide an excellent experience, achieve retention ratesWeekly / monthly / quarterly Pipeline forecastingComplete administrative work as required Qualifications:Experience balancing multiple sales opportunitiesExperience establishing communication and engagement with prospectsYou posses experience in a web-based environmentAbility to gain executive credibilityStrong business planning skillsExperience researching and generating leads and technical skillsMinimum 3 years of previous tech / software sales experienceDemonstrated consistent track record in exceeding sales targetsDemonstrated success with process approached sellingApplication software sales experienceBachelors Degree in the Life Sciences, Business or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent relevant sales experience The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $49,500-$66,000. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
