Position Summary The Staff Accountant position will involve a multitude of accounting and finance responsibilities in all areas of financial accounting, reporting, year-end audits, and budget activities for the assigned distributed generation power projects across the CleanCapital portfolio. Core Responsibilities Manage accounts payable including coding invoices, setting up new vendors, verifying bank information Manage invoicing and accounts receivable, including AR collections Post cash transactions in Sage Intacct in a timely basis Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits and address inquiries of unknown transactions Support preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and budget variance reports Support preparation of monthly work papers to support year end audits Assist with external audits and filing of annual tax returns Support the preparation of management reports, narrate, and reconcile budget to actual variances Support local tax billings and payments, including sales tax filings Manage external EIA reporting on a timely basis for the assigned distributed generation power projects Manage Renewable Energy Credit registries and deliveries for monthly and quarterly billings as applicable Assist with onboarding new projects to accounting software Contribute to special projects as requested Perform other related duties as assigned Job description may evolve over time Occasional travel expected Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required Technical Skills and Experience 2+ years of experience in public accounting specifically with audit engagements Preferred, but not required: -Experience in an accounting function in the renewable energy sector -Experience with Sage Intacct and Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioral Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion. Technical understanding of clean energy business processes Exceptional verbal and writing communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
