Overview As a valuable team member in the Internal Control group, this employee will contribute to the success of the SBUS control framework by working as and with the First Line of Defense to support the execution of the highly regulated Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, facilitation of open issues management, documentation and reporting on Operational Risk Events (ORE), and facilitate coordination of other risk governance activities such as Key Risk Indicators (KRI), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation, End User Computing (EUC) Controls and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for U.S. Operations What You'll Do Work with the Internal Control Senior Manager to execute the RCSA framework, plan, and evaluation of operational risk across for U.S. Operations functions (e.g. Client Onboarding, Middle Office, Settlements and Clearing, Margin, Deposits, Payments, and Tax Reporting). Centrally manage and track open issues and remediation efforts for issues attributed to the U.S. Operations team and liaise with the specific issue and action owners for periodic updates to manage the closure process. Partner with local U.S. Operations line managers to understand Operational risk events, analyze the root cause of issues and to determine effective corrective actions. Facilitate and support the escalation, documentation, and lifecycle management of Operational Risk Events (gains, losses, near misses) í˜ Participate in the annual Risk ID assessment with U.S. Operations leadership to document changes in the expected risk profile of all operational functions supported in the U.S. Participate in executing the Scenario Analysis with U.S. Operations line managers and process owners. Coordinate the annual review of the Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators to be monitored and reported for US Operations with process and control owners. Train U.S. Operations stakeholders on the identification, ownership, and responsibilities around operational risk and mitigation practices. Work with Global Wholesale Operations and Internal Controls risk counterparts globally (Toronto, London/Ireland, Asia Pacific) to ensure holistic reporting of operational risk to operations leadership globally. Participate to the annual planning assessment of the U.S. Operations RCSA universe. Coordinate the biennial refresh and annual attestation of SOPs with U.S Operations process owners. Coordinate the documentation and assessment of End User Computing tools with U.S. Operations EUC owners. Coordinate the documentation and refresh of the Business Continuity Plan for U.S. Operations by working with leadership to determine requirements and make changes as operational activity evolves. What You'll Bring Minimum of two years of relevant experience in financial services industry, particularly in risk management, regulatory compliance, operations, or audit. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field. Ability to work independently and comfortably liaise with senior management and a broad range of operations and risk subject matter experts. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Strong time management and ability to meet strict deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Independent thinking and willingness to challenge assumptions. Use of and/or interest in business intelligence and/or automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, VBA, etc.) Interested?
