Reports to: Manager, Events Programming The Opportunity About the Role & Consensus: Consensus is the most diverse gathering of the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3 communities, produced by the award-winning crypto media outlet CoinDesk. The Consensus event now heads to Hong Kong & Toronto, setting the stage for the most important conversation in crypto and Web3. We are seeking a dynamic finance, crypto, or events subject-matter expert to help design, curate, and manage all Networking event programs at Consensus 2025 (Toronto May 14-16, 2025). The Event Programming Lead will multiply the success of returning networking programs (the Deal Flow Zone, networking lounges, meetups, roundtables, dinners, and networking events) which match key audience segments and facilitate deal flow. This is a contract role for a ~6 month project. This role will aid in supercharging the thriving B2B element of Consensus by identifying new formats for attendee engagement, developing new onsite activities for key audience segments, and enhancing matching capabilities of the Consensus mobile app. From program and format ideation to audience segmentation to event layout, the program lead will work with to create new opportunities for deep connections among the high-powered Consensus audience. What You'll Do: Guide the overall development of all Networking programs at Consensus events in 2025. Create new networking spaces, events, and/or moments across the event, both for all attendees as well as invite-only programs for select audiences. Tailor networking programs to the specifics of the different Consensus audiences (investors, startups, developers, executives, etc). Manage and oversee all networking programs onsite to ensure a seamless and high-quality experience. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure success of all programs. Reach out to potential partners, vendors, and key external stakeholders to ensure successful programs. Attend weekly Event meetings to provide updates and receive feedback on ideas Be well-versed and experienced in best practices for high-level networking at events. Apply strategic audience data and analytics initiatives and work with the marketing team to continue developing networking features and engagement in real time. Create titles and descriptions for events, and ensure that all events are listed in the overall agenda. Liaise with speakers on session timing and support materials, help identify moderators to lead conversations Measure success, as this role will be defined and tracked by key performance metrics such as attendee engagement, survey satisfaction scores, positive feedback, etc What You Bring: 4+ years of professional experience in event design, event programming, and/or business development. Experience with B2B networking events tailored towards the finance, crypto, and/or blockchain industries is highly desirable Highly collaborative, superb organizational skills, effective communicator and tech savvy.
