Budtender-Lakemoor, Illinois Position Objective: Budtenders are responsible for facilitating all patient and caregiver transactions and improving their experience by providing current, accurate cannabis education and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized facility. Individuals must perform with an outstanding level of customer service and be able to adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the Lead Budtenders (AICs) and the General Manager. Individuals must prioritize customer service at all times and be able to facilitate patient/caregiver transactions and company procedures in an efficient and compliant manner. Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older. Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience. Minimum of 3 years of point of sale and cash handling experience. Must possess customer service, point of sale, and sanitation experience. High school diploma or GED Must be able to pass a background check with no pending charges or convictions within the past 10 years for a controlled substance-related felony. Must not be registered as a primary caregiver or must withdraw registration as a registered primary caregiver prior to accepting an official Offer of Employment. Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Must complete State of Illinois fingerprinting and attestation forms as part of the mandatory State Badging procedure. This is required for all workers in our cannabis dispensary to ensure compliance with state regulations. There is a $65 fingerprinting fee and a $100 badging fee required upfront, which are the responsibility of the applicant. These fees will be reimbursed by NOBO Illinois via a standard paycheck after 90 days of employment. Qualifications: Strong problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Working knowledge of the cannabis industry and the associated federal, state, and local municipal laws and regulations. Strong counting, tracking, inventory management, and customer service skills. Able to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with a diverse team. Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player. Qualified applicants have an aptitude for comprehending compliance and the ability to adhere to a regulatory framework by adhering to internal standard procedures as directed. Must follow all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Duties and Expectations: Stay current and adhere to all relevant federal, State, and municipal regulations. Encourage and maintain an environment of high integrity to optimize product quality, efficiency and compliance. Implement customer service and patient education best practices and standard procedures as communicated by the Lead Budtenders (AICs) and Managers. Responsible for Dispensary support; including but not limited to customer service, patient check-in, the point of sale transactions, order fulfillment, quality control, waste management, sanitation, and facility maintenance. Must maintain a culture of professionalism at all times. Monitor patient/caregiver retention while striving to maximize facility resources. Communicate customer issues to the Lead Budtender (AICs) or Managers. Assist the Lead Budtenders in identifying strategies to maximize available resources. Implement safe and compliant sanitation measures as directed by the Lead Budtenders. Maintain a working knowledge of State, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA,) and other regulations. Maintain Dispensary inventory management documentation, specifically including that related to point of sales transactions and waste management. Operate, clean, sanitize, and store equipment in a safe and effective manner as dictated by company policies and procedures. Must maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times. Implement facility sanitation standards as directed by the Lead Budtenders (AICs) and Managers. Maintain relevant facility records according to federal, state, and local regulations as directed by the Lead Budtenders. Foster a positive and communicative work environment. Request continuing education as needed. Communicate resource needs to the Managers and Lead Budtenders (AICs) as needed. Assist the Lead Budtenders (AICs) in managing supply and inventory levels. Take actions that are consistent with the company's overall strategy and values. Must adhere to the Company's stated Equality and Diversity and Drug-Free Workplace policies. Follow the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals, and objectives. Follow all company Emergency Plans. All other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Budtenders regularly work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of our facility. Successful performance of this role requires that the incumbent is physically able to move freely between different parts of the store, lift up to 50 pounds and spend several hours a day viewing a computer screen. This position is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
