Developer focused on utility-scale solar and storage projects Portfolio consists of work in MISO, PJM, NY-ISO, ISO-NE and WECC About Our Client Due to a significant injection of capital, they are looking to expand their team and portfolio further. This role will be a hands-on Developer overseeing projects from inception through to NTP. They currently have 18 people in their team but will be looking to build out multiple functions including their Development and Interconnection teams in the coming months. Job Description The Director of Development (Utility-scale Solar & Storage) will: Responsible for the planning and execution of development opportunities through to NTP Manage the project pipeline and development resources Project development tracking and ranking Individual project development priorities Work with Senior Management to identify and develop business opportunities to develop new PV and BESS facilities in attractive U.S. markets Coordinate and interface with internal team and external consultants to ensure the viability of identified projects through thorough analysis and appropriate project management Responsible for prioritization of projects, lead due diligence of projects, as appropriate Prepares project budgets and assists Management in the completion budget reviews Deliver projects on time and within the projected budget Ensure development tracking and reporting are up-to date and adequate for project /pipeline management Prepare regular reports for internal stakeholders and Management team Assess and present appropriate material for important project-based decision-making Obtains supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projects Develops and maintain relationships with industry contacts Closely follows industry trends and competitor activities, including regulatory/ financial incentives, power pricing and structured financing transactions MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant The Director of Development (Utility-scale Solar & Storage) will have: 6+ years experience in the development of solar PV and Energy storage projects Preference for someone with exposure to projects in PJM, MISO or WECC Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science or related field Impressive track record and experience in development of renewable energy projects Previous applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment Strong interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate effectively with a cross-functional internal team, vendors, consultants, various project stakeholders, authorities having legal control, utilities, state agencies etc. What's on Offer The Director of Development (Utility-scale Solar & Storage) will be eligible for: $200,000 - $250,000 base salary Project-milestone bonus Comprehensive benefits package Ability for 100% remote within the US If you're looking for a slightly different role within the Renewables industry, feel free to reach out to me directly on LinkedIn to discuss your experience and the broader roles I'm working on.
