The Staff Accountant provides specialized services in processing journal entries, accounting or similar financial activities for a department or business unit. They are an expert in their area of specialization. They administer and maintain finance/accounting activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures and best practices in financial management. The Staff Accountant provides assistance to staff in their specialty area. RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE Reviews and registers journal entries, interprets results of transactions and communicates necessary actions needed to comply with accounting standards and business procedures. Ensures TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met. Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field. WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU Are you looking for work you can believe in? Strong organization skills. Non-profit accounting experience. Service orientation and ability to effectively communicate using a variety of media (e.g. email, Zoom, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, phone). WHAT YOU'LL BRING Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 3 years' related experience or equivalent combination. Experience with basic accounting principles. Experience with GAAP and fund accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Experience using automated accounting systems.
