Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader for the Computational Platform at Ampersand. Successful candidates bring a strong combination of scientific acumen, proven leadership and the ability to drive a platform vision forward while working in a highly collaborative environment. This role requires expertise related to machine learning, multi-omics data analysis & integration, database design, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and a background with protein-based drug modalities. As the VP of the Computational Platform, you will lead and build a talented team, providing strategic direction and ensuring the successful execution of our computational platform vision. The ideal candidate must be independent, goal-oriented, have excellent communication skills, be motivated to learn new skills and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Help define and implement strategic, operational and financial plans for the computational platform aligned with Ampersand's goals of driving AND-Body therapeutics. Mentor, inspire, and build a high-performing computational team, promoting professional growth and development. Lead efforts to implement and advance new technologies and analyses across the computational platform, working closely with the other scientific teams to generate and interpret high quality data sets for machine learning and platform development. Work closely with program heads to establish data infrastructure and analytical workflows. Work with computational and experimental scientists to establish data management practices and SOPs to improve efficiency. Communicate strategy and results to internal and external parties in verbal, written, and presentation formats, with clear data visualizations. Contribute meaningfully to building a world-class AND-Body platform at the forefront of scientific innovation. Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Significant experience (8+ years) in computational biology or a related field with at least 4 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of successfully leading and building high-performing teams. Extensive experience with machine learning, data science, integration and analysis of NGS data. Experience with NGS and bioinformatics tools. Experience with cloud environments such as AWS. Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, driving the Platform vision with key stakeholders. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Preferred Qualification: Experience with antibody binder design and multi-omics data analysis.
