Responsibilities The System provides leadership, support, and management of design, construction, administration, completion and financial outcome of all capital construction and IT projects as assigned. This position is responsible for managing thedelivery of a national portfolio consisting of multiple capital projects or programs with budgets ranging from $100 thousandto several million dollars. The System Manager position communicates and interfaces with Division, hospital leadership and National IT leadership for capital project coordination and communication as appropriate. This positionprovides oversight of project objectives, ensures financial control including project budgets, cash flow forecasting andmanagement, and resolution of project risks and contingencies to ensure projects are completed with successful outcomes in quality, timeliness and cost effectiveness. This position reports directly to the System or Reginal Director Tech Project Delivery, and will supervise 4-5 Area Managers, Project Directors, and/or other positions as direct reports. â— Responsible for scheduling and managing the project delivery process for all assigned projects. â— Leads the project team in establishing scope, schedule and budget and is responsible for maintaining the objectives throughout each phase of the project. Provides internal and external project communications to ensure all team members are advised of project status. â— Responsible for coordination between construction team, consultants and facility operations. â— Monitors construction activities to ensure conformance with approved documents and specifications, regulations, codes, standards and laws that are applicable to the project. â— Maintains relationships with approving authorities at the federal, state and local level. â— Participates in negotiating fees and business decisions for project vendors in accordance with CommonSpirit Health policies Qualifications â— Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture and/or equivalent experience required. Master's preferred â— Significant experience (7+ years) in providing leadership and management direction related to planning, design and construction for hospital construction projects. â— Demonstrated success in delivery of major healthcare capital projects. â— Experience in facilitating senior management and multidisciplinary user groups in planning, design and construction related meetings and presentations. â— Experience with project delivery methods such as design-build, design-bid-build or others. â— Experience in developing conceptual project scope, schedules and budgets. â— Experience preparing contract documents. â— Experience managing project construction budgets and controls. â— Experience in health facility design. â— Experience in health facility preconstruction services. â— Experience in equipment planning processes. â— Experience with construction processes, building and life safety codes. â— Experience with approving authorities, OSHPD/HCAI (for State of California positions only) and similar regulatory agencies. â— Experience assembling, evaluating and leading project teams in complex environments and demonstrating effective decision making. â— Proficient written and verbal communication skills. â— Proficient management skills resolving conflict, promoting teamwork, coaching and developing others, and promoting performance management. â— Displays self-confidence and inspires confidence in others. â— Maintains professional and technical knowledge on a consistent basis.
