Overview We are looking for a motivated Staff Account -Fixed Assets. As a Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets, you will be responsible for the application of proceeds related to the disposal/retirement of assets primarily within the companies SAP environment. The individual in the position must be able to work independently under moderate supervision, communicate well with others and be time sensitive. Responsibilities Process asset retirements and transfers using the SAP system (as well as internal systems) which includes ensuring that all required asset disposal documents are completed in accordance with company policies Reconcile asset disposal GL account including the research and resolution of any outstanding items Provide asset information to Suburban Customer Service Centers to assist with the sales and disposals of company assets Maintain surplus vehicle schedules including the recording of necessary fair market value adjustments Reconcile the vehicle fixed asset sub-ledger to Fleet department records. Prepare monthly GL account reconciliations Maintain Customer Service assets schedules and interact with Customer Service/Regional offices for purposes of identifying and insuring company policies surrounding asset controls are followed. Prepare various asset schedules for management. Perform other fixed asset related functions as necessary. Why join the Suburban Propane team? Qualifications Associate Accounting degree or above required Accounting experience preferred Must have knowledge of accounting software, preferably SAP Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Must have the ability to evaluate and understand advanced accounting transactions Knowledge of GAAP As part of our pre-employment hiring process, background checks and drug screens are performed.
