Senior Risk Analyst (Energy Sector):

Primary Skills: Risk Management (Expert), Econometrics (Advanced), Energy Trading (Advanced), Microsoft Office (Expert), Production Cost (Advanced) Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 12+ Months Location: Tualatin, OR Pay Range: $65 - $75 per hour Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Risk Analyst to join our team, focusing on analyzing risks and developing actionable intelligence within the energy sector. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in guiding our company's approach to navigating the evolving dynamics of the power sector, including investment opportunities and infrastructure risks. This position offers significant growth potential within the organization and requires a candidate with a broad background in energy and quantitative risk analysis. Key Responsibilities: Lead Power Operations Risk Management, including running and analyzing operational reports and assessing trading risk limits. Develop new quantitative models and enhance existing ones, supporting internal partners in decision making. Provide analytical support for trading, portfolio management, and risk assessment, translating insights into quantifiable terms. Design and implement complex valuation and price models for various energy agreements and derivatives. Lead quantitative research and modeling tasks, applying advanced tools such as AI and machine learning to industry trend analysis. Must-Have Skills: Strong experience with Production Cost Modeling. Deep understanding of wholesale power and/or gas markets. Proficient in Risk Management System usage. Domain Experience: Broad background in energy, focusing on power, natural gas, and renewables in North America. 3 - 4+ years in a similar role within the energy industry. The ideal candidate will possess a BS or MS in engineering, statistics, science, economics, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in a quantitative role within the energy sector. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Endur ETRM are highly desirable.
