Your role on the team: The Managing Director is responsible for the overall performance, planning, strategic development, and commercial and operational success for the country P &L, in alignment with regional/company guidelines and best practices. Oversees all efficient logistics of USA operations, including business development, freight operations, and commercial activity Engages in regular business reviews; Review performance against budget and KPIs; Agrees on potential remedial action plans Drives service delivery and compliance within the country, in line with fundamental company standards/processes, while adhering to government regulations Manages business development goals in alignment with the region Ensures improvement targets and quality standards are achieved Provides insights on market evolution and deviations to budget and growth targets Continuously builds and develops a capable, motivated, and results focused management team Ensures adequate staffing (sizing and competencies) within the country branch operations based on productivity standards and forecasting Other projects as required and assigned What you need: (requirements) Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in freight forwarding logistics managing/leading operations and sales of a country and/or regional (domestic/international) P&L experience ($500 million in scope) Demonstrated progressive leadership track Strong communications skills both verbal and written Ability to establish collaborative relationships across lines of business, and proactively seek joint business opportunities Leadership experience, coaching, developing, retention and succession planning Overseas experience preferred but not mandatory Ability to travel PC literacy to include proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc. Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals, along with geometry and trigonometry Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form What you gain from joining our team: Access wages early with the Rain financial wellness app. Free telemedical access to doctors and therapists through First Stop Health is available on the first day of employment!
