Position: Project Accountant Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Id: 1899 # of Openings: 1 Project Accountant Location: Grand Rapids, MI Job Summary Fishbeck is seeking a talented individual to join our accounting department in our Grand Rapids, MI office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the project billing and accounting process. This role includes responding to project manager and client inquiries, recording project expenses, and ensuring proper revenue recognition. Primary Functions Provide pre-billing information for project managers to review. Communicate with project managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications. Provide accurate and timely billing, collection, cost accounting, and cost analysis. Meet with project managers and project staff to answer billing and collection questions. Prepare monthly billing reports for project managers. Provide year-end support of auditor requirements. Project setup assistance. Assist project managers with collections. Facilitate job closeout. Minimum Physical Requirements Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, visual acuity to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Desired Education Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance Desired Skills/Experience 3+ years of professional experience as a project accountant or similar role. Experience in Deltek Vantagepoint or BST. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Experience in A/E is a plus. Ability to prepare project budgets and financial forecasts. Experience in project invoicing and billing. In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and client services.
