About the role Backed by platform data and insights from nearly 8,000 private companies, we recently launched Novata Advisory to enhance our market-leading technology solution with a suite of offerings that maximize the value of the Novata experience. This Senior ESG Analyst will play an important role on the Novata Advisory team by delivering diverse solutions and producing high-quality insights and outputs for both investor and corporate clients. This is primarily a non-client facing role. The Senior ESG Analyst will be working largely behind the scenes and across internal teams to provide deliverables to our clients. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, on-time outputs in line with the expectations of multiple project leads across diverse engagements at all times. Novata is looking for a Senior ESG Analyst to: Support the Novata Advisory team in delivering a variety of ESG solutions, including but not limited to: Strategy development and materiality Data analysis and translation Target setting Performance improvement Reporting and communications GHG measurement and management Regulatory support (SFDR, CSRD, SEC, TCFD, CA Climate Regs, etc) Research and track evolving ESG trends and developments across standards, frameworks, regulations, industries, best practices, and emerging issue areas. Including but not limited to: General ESG and sustainability frameworks and principles SASB/ISSB Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) TCFD CA climate regulations Pending SEC climate rules Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD); Research and create content for various internal and external audiences, including but not limited to: Thought leadership pieces such as blogs, articles, and marketing materials Presentations for meetings and sales pitches Educational assets for cross-functional teams as well as clients Requirements About You You have: At least 3 years of experience in ESG consulting, advisory, or a related field. ESG experience in private equity, private credit, impact investing, venture capital and/or with portfolio companies or similar corporates will also be considered. Extensive data fluency - you are comfortable identifying, cleaning, and analyzing complex datasets and translating insights into defensible strategies, narratives, goals, and actions. Excellent communication - you are adept at writing, speaking, and listening to internal and external stakeholders and can effectively convey complex topics, needs, and objectives, and you actively seek to understand the perspectives, needs, and objectives of stakeholders as well. Advanced Excel and PPT skills - plus their Google counterparts Data visualization experience - e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, and/or other data visualization tools High degree of motivation - you are proactive and eager to take on new challenges and lend a hand wherever it is needed. Problem-solving mindset - you are focused on solutions and find creative ways to identify and achieve them. Agility and resilience - this is a startup environment, and you will be working on multiple, fast-paced projects.
